Baťa experience

This project is based on the idea that an interior is not only a physical environment, but also a carrier of identity, traces of time, and a unique story. Through the reconstruction of an original Baťa semi-detached house into an experiential space, it explores the possibilities of interior design as a form of non-verbal communication. The design visually draws from urban architecture, fully respects the original architectural character of the building, and connects its historical context with contemporary functional use. The functional division of the building into two parts creates a complex spatial concept, in which one half serves as a publicly accessible thematic and experiential space focused on interactive group activities reflecting the development of the Baťa company, while the other half provides short-term accommodation interpreting a modern approach to original Baťa living. The result is a design that educates the public in a contemporary way, encourages visitor cooperation, and thereby reflects the fundamental Baťa philosophy that the success of the individual depends on the success of the whole. The resulting interior is capable of communicating the story of Baťa heritage without words, primarily through sensory perception and movement through space.
