The interior design of a duplex apartment in the Čerešne residential complex in Bratislava is conceived as a peaceful retreat for a married couple in their 40s who lead active professional lives. Both work with people and operate in dynamic environments, and their apartment is intended to be a place where they can slow down, unwind, and feel at ease after a day full of responsibilities.
The interior is designed in a natural color palette, with an emphasis on warmth, coziness, and timelessness. The materials used and the muted tones create a harmonious environment that feels balanced and pleasant, without unnecessary ostentation. The goal was to achieve a sense of home that supports calm and comfort.
A distinctive feature of the interior is the wine wall – a private wine bar that reflects the owners’ passion for wine. It is a natural part of the living space and at the same time a place for relaxation and social gatherings with friends.
In contrast to the warm natural tones, the guest room and entrance hallway are designed in soft blue shades. This color choice brings a sense of cleanliness, freshness, and a visual separation of individual functional zones, while still maintaining the overall harmony of the interior.
The spatial layout of the apartment is complemented by two terraces located on each level of the duplex. Each has a different character – the lower terrace serves as a social outdoor zone, while the upper terrace offers a more private atmosphere intended for rest and relaxation.
The entire design is based on the idea of balance between representativeness and intimacy – a home that reflects the owners’ lifestyle while also providing them with a space for rest and regeneration.
