The House of Culture in Sered is a significant community space with a long history, which currently no longer meets current functional and technical requirements. The thesis therefore focuses on the revitalization and accessibility of the interior. The main goal was to solve several fundamental shortcomings that the current state of the building shows, while the design focuses on the theater hall, the variety hall and the foyer. The first and most important problem was accessibility, in both buildings architectural adjustments to the space were needed so that they were accessible to all users. Within the existing building, I also focused on the functional arrangement of the spaces. I emphasized the overall improvement of the layout, which also enabled the enlargement of the foyer. In the hall, I focused on modernizing the materials and improving the perception of space. The most significant ideological decision in my design was to change the function of the theater hall. After thorough research and analysis of the needs of the place, I came to the conclusion that this space has the potential to become a modern coworking center with a café. The main idea was to create a place for young people and anyone who needs a change of working environment. This vision proved to be particularly justified given the proximity of primary and secondary schools in the area, which naturally generate demand for this type of space.
